The first ever addition of the Tin Cup Tournament was held this Memorial Day at Riverwood Golf Club and it was a great success. The Tournament attracted over 60 players that really enjoyed the competition and fun of it all before later joining their loved ones for some other great Memorial Day activities.

Fore!

To make sure all had a great time, the event even had several holes for each green. This even included several oversized holes that were at least 3 times the normal size. That alone made sure things stayed interesting and light.

Although good-spirited, the Tournament ended with some really competitive finishes. Especially in the men’s flights. There were five total flights for the men and below are the amazing results.

And the Winner Is…

Flight 1: In a pencil thin margin of victory, Lou Masini shot an impressive 66. This would’ve given him first place honors if not for the very nice 65 shot by Kevin Miller. Wayne Denton was not far behind in third with a round of 70.

Flight 2: With a solid five shot victory, Michael Kang shot a 67 to top both Kirby Kim and Wes Davis who posted matching 72’s. Kirby Kim was awarded second place after a scorecard playoff.

Flight 3: Finishing with a solid 77, Seoung Son claimed the top spot over Ken Terry who registered a 78, followed by Gil Gonsalves who was close behind with a 79.

Flight 4: Blake Dohner placed first with a round of 77 with Alex Bullard hot on his heels with a round of 78. Third place was earned by Murray Szabo who shot an 80.

Flight 5: Top honors went to Bobby Huntoon who wrangled in a 78. Kevin Norman locked in second place with Bob Elliott posting an 82 to solidify third.

Ladies’ Flight: Balbina Kang delivered a stellar nine shot victory over the next closest competition. She shot a 72 followed by Kim Harrell with an 81 and Cindy Casey with an 88.

The Tin Cup Tournament Putts in the Fun

Good times were had by all and everyone is definitely looking forward to the second annual showing of the Tin Cup Tournament in 2015.

A special thanks to the course superintendent Dave Wallace and his grounds crew for doing such a remarkable job making the course look as eye-catching as ever.
